About Us
AIPCE (EU Fish Processors and Traders Association) and CEP (European Federation of National Organizations of Importers and Exporters of Fish) were established in 1959 and collaborate on the basis of a Co-operation Agreement, creating AIPCE-CEP.
The association represents 15 National Associations from 9 Member States and 2 Third countries (UK, Norway), accounts for more than 3,900 enterprises and 128,000 persons (more than 80% representativeness at EU level). The value of the output of the industry represented by AIPCE-CEP amounts to around EUR 34 billion, about three and a half times the turnover of the EU catch sector.

All trade-related agenda in AIPCE-CEP is handled by the Trade Working Group. The main areas covered by this WG:
- Contribute and be updated on current trade relations/negotiations and FTAs (keep contact with DG Trade)
- BREXIT negotiations and the position of EU Fish processors and traders’ industry
- Close monitoring of IUU procedure with non-cooperating countries
- Ongoing monitoring of ATQs implementation M
- Marketing Standards
Objectives
- Improve access to supply through ATQ system and follow-up of tariff issues.
- Evaluation of market trends and balance of supply/demand.
- Contribution to trade negotiations, follow-up of trade agreements, analysis of trade barriers/restrictions (e.g. sanitary requirements, IUU bans).
